Moline is a little town in Illinois on the Mississippi and the claim of the fame is John Deere Factory. John Deere is the biggest and the best manufacturer of HUGE farming equipment and is an American Icon like "motherhood and Apple Pie". We just saw a glimpse of the pavilion and are totally impressed. I will report more on it tomorrow, but you can get a glimpse of it's products from the picture of the "Grain Seeder" here.
What am I doing in Moline? The real answer is I am falling in love with little towns in mid west and always find an excuse to come here and see Leona, Jim, Becky and the "boys". This time , we are here to attend a grand Indian Wedding in Chicago but I am taking a pretrip option to visit little towns and see my friends.
So, here is something to think about: If John Deere is doing so well and if it is the biggest and the best why Moline looks DEAD..it is like a ghost town except for the John Deere Pavilion area. May be we have not found the area where all these workers of the successful company live? I will try to answer it tomorrow, for now Good night
